What’s Invisalign?
Invisalign is the world’s most advanced removable clear teeth straightening aligner. Invisalign discreetly and efficiently moves teeth, with minimal trips to the dentist. Invisalign is a pain free, simple and an easy method of getting your new smile. Invisalign has been used on over 10 million people making it a popular, scientifically proven, safe way to straighten teeth.
Why choose Invisalign?
-
Unlike metal braces, the Invisalign aligner is near invisible meaning is it super discreet! The aligners are removable too, so they can be removed to eat and drink or when you‘re out.
-
Invisalign is the easiest way to straighten teeth. It involves three steps to get started:
Step 1. Consultation
Step 2. Clincheck Smile Preview
Step 3. Fitting your aligners
-
Invisalign aligners are worn for 20-22hr per day and are only taken out to eat, drink and clean teeth. The aligners move teeth gradually. Each week you change onto a new aligner which pushes your teeth into their final position. The treatment on average takes 6 months, however for simple tooth movement treatment can be as quick as eight weeks!
Is Invisalign for me?
Advances in Invisalign mean that more complex cases can now be treated. Invisalign fixes crowding, spacing, open bites, crossbites, narrow smiles and large overjets. Find out more below.
Crowding Issues
Katie came to see me as she disliked the way her smile looked. She had become more conscious of this with time and wanted something doing about it! She wanted to straighten out the teeth and have a brighter smile.
Katie had 28 weeks of Invisalign teeth straightening, two weeks of professional home whitening and then 12 teeth composite bonding to perfect her smile.
Crossbite Issues
Mohammed found me online as he had seen my life changing transformations and wanted to be one of them!
Mohammed suffered with many dental issues, as he had put off going to the dentist for many years. These included gum disease, fractured teeth, severe crowding and discolouration to name a few.
After just 31 weeks of Invisalign we aligned his teeth. We then undertook two weeks of home whitening, and did six teeth composite bonding to finish off his smile.
Spacing Issues
Kam came to me as he wanted something doing about his gap. We trialled composite bonding to close the space but Kam did not like the widened tooth look.
After speaking about Invisalign and showing a smile simulation, we decided this was the best option as this kept the teeth the same sizes and correct some crowding issues too. Kam’s Invisalign treatment took just 24 weeks. Following on from this, we then whitened the teeth and did six teeth composite bonding to create a more symmetrical smile.
Overjet Issues
Leoni hated the way her front teeth looked. They were all mispositioned and the front tooth was stuck out forward making her conscious when smiling.
Leoni had straight teeth within 17 just only! After her teeth were straightened we then whitened and placed composite bonding on the six front upper teeth to even out minor imperfection to finish her perfect smile.
Crowding Issues
Amrita came to me as I treated her family member and she wanted her smile upgrade for her wedding.
Amrita wanted a glowing white bright smile and a pronounced look. Amrita’s Invisalign smile journey took exactly 23 weeks. After which we whitened the smile and placed composite bonding on the edges of the upper front six teeth.
Overbite Issues
Callum was my colleagues partner and he wanted to get something done about his smile. Callum had a common complaint that his front middle teeth were pushed back and his side teeth were pushed forward.
Callum’s Invisalign journey took 32 weeks. Following the teeth straightening, we then whitened the teeth and repaired one tooth which was broken with composite bonding. This gave him much confidence and a glowing naturally beautiful smile
Invisalign Process
3 Simple Steps
Getting started with Invisalign is simple. Treatment can be started 3 weeks after consultation and your teeth will begin straightening in the first week!
-
At your first visit, I will conduct a smile assessment and full examination. This will include an orthodontic facial assessment of how your teeth are positioned and the way your teeth bite together. I will also look at the position, shape, colour and size of the teeth. I will determine a number of options for you and work out the best suited plan with your interests in mind. Records of your teeth and photographs will be taken to help planning.
-
After your consultation, I will design your smile working with my team of orthodontists. This means we can show you how your teeth will look on a digital simulator ( this is called the ClinCheck).
Watch Me Explain A ClinCheck Video here
This will predictably show the movement of your teeth, how many aligners you will require, where space creation maybe needed, where buttons are placed and your final new smile.
-
At your first visit, I will first start by adding the tooth coloured ( attachments) buttons onto the teeth and if space is required this will be carried out. No injections or pain is caused during this stage. Here you will receive your first set of aligners ( usually you will have 4-6 weeks of aligners), your carrying case and cleaning crystals. I will also demonstrate how to remove and place your new aligners and ensure you are comfortable doing this. A scanbox maybe given to you to help with monitoring your teeth from home, reducing your need to visit me at the clinic.
How Does Invisalign Actually Work?
Invisalign works through gradual, progressive, planned tooth movements to create final smile.
Invisalign moves teeth by applying a specific forces to different parts of the tooth during different parts of your treatment. This makes the process predictable and precise.
Invisalign works by taking your existing tooth position and your desired straightened position and creates a treatment plan ‘map’.
Each Invisalign aligner will move specific teeth in a planned pre-determined order. Your teeth move gently and progressively according to your final desired smile. The aligners are given to you in batches. You typically change to your new aligner after around 7 days.
Treatment can be as quick as eight weeks, but the average invisalign journey takes 6 months.
Your Digitally Planned Invisalign Smile
Invisalign offers a digital preview of your new smile. This means you can see how your new teeth will look!
The ClinCheck gives a 3D smile view showing the teeth movement and the duration of treatment. You will see how your teeth will move with each aligner and know where you will have buttons (attachments placed) and if space (Interproximal Reduction) is needed.

What Happens During Invisalign Treatment
Less visits, more precision with Scanbox
What is the Scanbox?
The Scanbox is a device that turns any smartphone into a mouth scanner. This device tracks teeth movement during Invisalign, provides weekly updates of your progress and helps prevent issues with Invisalign early on. This means patients receive continuous support, detailed tooth monitoring and higher success with a reduced need for refinements. The Scanbox app works with the Scanbox and trains you to scan your teeth weekly. The app notifies you if there any issues and manages your treatment for you. All your scans are sent to me to review so that I can keep track of your progress, without the need for you to come to the clinic! This makes Invisalign even easier and more successful for you.
Watch me Unbox the Scanbox here
The Scanbox means that, unlike before, you do not need to visit every 4-6 weeks for an Invisalign review at the clinic. Most patient using Scanbox will only visit 1-2 times throughout their entire treatment, whilst regularly scanning teeth weekly from home. This makes it ideal for busy, on the go, patients.

From consultation to fitting your first aligner, 3 weeks. This is dependent on how healthy your mouth is. If there are problems needing fixing then we must address these first. This can prolong the start time.
